The Committee on Health and Human Resources moved to amend the bill on page two, section one, by striking out all of lines twenty-three through twenty-six and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

“’Health care professional’ means an allopathic physician, osteopathic physician, registered professional nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, physician's assistant, dentist or optometrist licensed under chapter thirty of this code.”

And,

On page two, section one, by striking out all of lines twenty-seven through thirty-two and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

“’Health maintenance tasks’ means:

(1) Administering glucometer tests;

(2) Administering gastrostomy tube feedings;

(3) Administering enemas; and

(4) Performing tracheostomy and ventilator care for residents.

‘Prescribing practitioner’ means an individual who has prescriptive authority as provided in Chapter 30.”

And,

On page two, section one, by striking out all of lines thirty-three through thirty-six and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

“’Medication’ means a drug, as defined in section one hundred one, article one, chapter sixty-a of this code, which has been prescribed by a health care professional to be ingested through the mouth, inhaled through the nose or mouth, applied to the outer skin, eye or ear, or applied through nose drops, or applied through vaginal or rectal suppositories. Medication does not mean a controlled substance listed in Schedule I as provided in §60A-2-204 and Schedule II as provided in §60A-2-206.”

And,

On page three, section two, line four, by striking out the word “AMAPs” and inserting in lieu thereof the word “AMAP”.

And,

On page four, section two, line eight, by striking out the words “recommend that the nursing home authorize” and inserting in lieu thereof the word “allow”.

And,

On page four, section three, lines one and two, by striking out the words “or perform a health maintenance task”.

And,

On page four, section four, line eight, after the word “of” by inserting the word “full-time”.

And,

On page four, section four, line eleven, by striking out the word “and” and inserting a new subdivision (6), to read as follows:

“(6) Not have a statement on the state administered nurse aide registry indicating that the staff member has been the subject of finding of abuse or neglect of a long-term care nursing home resident or convicted of the misappropriation of a resident's property; and”

And renumbering the remaining subdivisions accordingly.

And,

On page five, section five, lines two through six, by striking out subdivisions (1) and (2);

And renumbering the remaining subdivisions accordingly.

And,

On page six, section seven, line two, by striking out the words “or perform a health maintenance task”.
